General Information: Rome is one of the most historic cities in Europe and still today a constantly growing world metropolis. Originally the Pontifical Sapienza University of Rome, it has been nationalized since the 19th century and has grown steadily since its founding. Today it consists of eleven faculties and 63 departments; over 290 different courses of study are offered. Over 100,000 students are enrolled at the university, and it hosts about 5,500 exchange students annually. The university is located in the immediate city center. The Psychology Department is located near the main Sapienza campus.
Study programs and specializations: A bachelor's degree in "Psychological Sciences and Techniques" and a bachelor's degree in "Psychology and Social Processes" are offered. In addition, there are several master's programs with diverse specializations, including "Psychology of Communication and Marketing," "Personnel, Industrial and Organizational Psychology," "Legal, Forensic and Criminal Psychology," "Health Psychology in Clinical and Medical Contexts," "Psychology of Typical and Atypical Development," "Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychological Rehabilitation," among others. Not all majors are offered every semester.
Study schedule: The winter semester usually begins in mid/late September and ends in early February. The summer semester usually begins in early February and ends in late June. Examinations take place in January for the winter semester and in June for the summer semester.
Other Information: The university offers support to international students through free intensive language courses and an orientation week. Housing can be obtained through the CTS Housing Program Service. There are many student associations and an active Erasmus+ Student Network (ESN) in Rome.
